It is time for the election of LGBT Caucus Executive Officers and Steering Committee Members. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 4:30 pm with the location to be announced soon.
Nominations for Executive Officers and all Steering Committee members with the exception of the LGBT Caucus State Central Committee (SCC) representatives will be taken at the meeting. Those positions are Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, one (1) Kaua’i, Maui and Hawai’i County Representatives and two (2) Steering Committee at-large members.
For those interested in running for the SCC reps position need to follow the these nomination steps:
1. Submit a Ten dollar ($10) filing fee payable to the Democrat Party of Hawai‘i
2. Endorsement signatures from five members of the LGBT Caucus
3. A Written statement showing:
A. demonstrated involvement and active participation with the LGBT Caucus meetings and/or LGBT Caucus activities
B. Commitment to attend the State Central Committee and LGBT Caucus meetings
4. Been a member of the LGBT Caucus before March 7, 2018 Precinct Meetings.
The filing fee, signatures of the LGBT Caucus members (click for form) and the written statement are due to DPH Headquarters by July 31, 2018 at 4:30 pm.
All candidates’ statements for the SCC reps positions will be emailed out to the LGBT Caucus members no later than August 18, 2018.
